Part 1 of #imperfectsnacking while traveling was drafted after a 1 day trip to Arlington, Virginia last week and it was more of the “how” in healthy travel snacking. In this post I hope to give you more of the “what”–ideas for airport/quick snacks so you’re not tempted to make unhealthy snack decisions just because that’s what’s there. See this post for 3 essentials for snacks so you can have some reference for why I’m choosing the snacks here.
Just for transparency sake, I had a mid-morning snack of yogurt and 2 cheese sticks while at our Arlington office today. I did not purchase any of the snacks below because I just had lunch, however, I hope you see a few items here that you’d like!
Just kidding. I wanted one of these but for some reason they’re easier to resist at 2 pm. Woo! Here are some healthy snacks I found at an airport today:
- Raw, smoked, or flavored almonds
- Raw or flavored in-shell pistachios
- Hummus and pretzels
- Variety of beef jerky flavors
- Several different types of trail mixes such as tropical or berry
- Flavored Greek yogurt (has more protein than regular yogurt)
- Sweet cashews
- Sweetened nut clusters
- Glazed pecans
What airport snacks do you like? Any favorites other than what I found? Hope this helps you on your next adventures!
